What Is Hyperinsulinemia?

What Causes Hyperinsulinemia?

The most common cause of hyperinsulinemia is insulin resistance driven by lifestyle. The main contributors are:

  • A diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugar — repeated large glucose loads demand repeated large insulin releases.
  • Excess visceral fat — fat stored around the organs releases inflammatory signals that worsen insulin resistance.
